Am I the only person who gets completely irked by poor grammar in music?
The latest one that has put a bee in my bonnet is the song from the Australian Idol winner, Wes.
The lyric goes something like:
"You can have what I got 'cos I don't got nothin' worth havin' if I ain't got you."
Every time I hear it the whole left side of my face screws up tight and I start making 'clicking' noises from the side of my mouth.
Theoretically wrong

I was going to write that the lesson is to not listen to Australian Idols, but if you really want to avoid bad song grammar, you'd have to also avoid such class acts as Joni Mitchell, and that would be wrong.
You're right. I think if I was really looking out for poor song grammar I would see it more often.
It's only occasionally that a song comes along that rubs me up the wrong way.
Here's a challenge. A race to be the first to come up with a GOOD song that was originally performed by a contestant from Australian Idol. I honestly don't think there's even one.
I've got nada. I've also managed to avoid the show since about the second one, so I'm blissfully ignorant :)
